DokuWiki – Automatic Page Refresh/Reload

It’s possible to trigger the automatic reload of a DokuWiki page, every 60 seconds in this example, by adding the following lines at the top of the wiki page:

<html> <meta http-equiv="refresh" content="60" > </html>
~~NOCACHE~~

Modern browsers have a certain level of “stupidity-tolerance”, which makes them execute meta tags even if they are located in the HTML page body instead of the head. We use this trick here. NOCACHE tells DokuWiki to not to cache the page.

If you want to be double-sure, you might add this:

<html>
   <meta http-equiv="refresh" content="60" >
   <META HTTP-EQUIV="PRAGMA" CONTENT="NO-CACHE">
   <META HTTP-EQUIV="EXPIRES" CONTENT="0">
   <META HTTP-EQUIV="CACHE-CONTROL" CONTENT="NO-CACHE">
</html>
~~NOCACHE~~
